Interview with Minal Sampat
What
was the hardest scene from your book to write?
Most chapters of my book start with real
stories - scenarios and experiences I have had working with clients. The
hardest part was always sharing the difficult movements that pushed the client
to give me a call. These are real stories that have impacted businesses, and as
a business owner, I can relate to those confusing and overwhelming moments.
Why
did you choose to write in your particular field or genre?
The book is about Marketing & Business,
and that is why I chose to write it in this particular genre.
If
you write in more than one genre, how do you balance them?
The book dives into how to break through the
marketing noise to become successful. If a business owner is successful, then
they would also be fulfilled in their personal life. This could also be a
self-help and/or personal growth book.
What
did you enjoy most about writing this book?
We’re living in an interesting time.
Technology is growing by leaps every day, and while that provides many
marketing opportunities, it’s also a lot to keep up with. How do we keep up
with it? How do we grow with it? How do we continue to be successful and not
feel overwhelmed by all these advances?
I really enjoyed sharing how to create a
foundation: confidence that no matter how much technology evolves, your
business is still going to be ok. I’ve gotten feedback from a few readers
already who say that the book instilled a sense of calm and control over their
marketing, and that made me feel very happy. One person said she read the whole
thing on a flight, unable to put it down. She landed, had her team implement
one of the strategies in the book, and within a week they saw results.
That’s really affirming.
What
book that you have read has most influenced your life?
Too many to name. I would say The E-Myth by
Michael Geber has influenced me the most with business planning.
Tell
us a little about yourself? Perhaps something not many people know?
I was born in India, grew up in St.Thomas
(US Virgin Islands), lived in NJ and am now living in WA state. My addresses,
phone numbers and email Ids usually confuse people as they are from all over
the world!
Can
you tell us something about your book that is not in the summary?
The first and the last 2 chapters in the
book include me sharing personal stories from my childhood.
