really down for you? That’s the question Ceasar constantly asks
himself. In his eyes betrayal is a worse crime than murder, so think
twice before crossing him.
Daquans’s
was life was filled with what he considered to be normalcy. He is
completely devoted to his wife, Aviana, and their son. But how deep
does his loyalty run? Can he stay with Aviana when her past catches
up with her, attempting to collect an unpaid debt?
Nolan
is a prominent member of his family, but he’s also the only one who
managed to make it out of the hood. His family looks to him for all
type of assistance, including money, because he doesn’t have the
heart to tell them enough is enough. Maybe it’s the guilt he feels
from his secret that keeps him digging in his pocket for his loved
ones.
Join
us as we dive into these strangers lives to explore their inner
circles. Lies will be told, secrets won’t be kept, and graves will
have to be dug. Take this ride with us, and maybe you could answer
the question, is blood thicker?
Excerpt:
“That
should be my house,” Hunei said as she continued to the end of the
street.
At
first, Hunei felt guilty about following Nolan, but that guilt
quickly disappeared. The way she figured it, Nolan led her to the
home she deserved. The home that one day she would share with him and
their children. Hunei was brought back to reality by the sound of her
cellphone ringing.
“Hello,”
she answered, annoyed.
“I
need your help,” Roneeka panted through the receiver.
“What’s
goin’ on?” Hunei asked.
“Those
guys that picked me up were feds,” Roneeka answered.
“Then
why the hell are you callin’ me?” Hunei asked.
“Because
I need help and Caesar not answering his phone,” Roneeka answered.
“Caesar?
Who the hell is that?”
Hunei
hung up the phone, pissed that Roneeka had the nerve to call her. If
the feds picked her up, then she was sure they were watching her and
possibly listening to her phone calls. Hunei wanted no parts of
whatever trouble Roneeka was in, especially if it included Caesar.
She was so tired of his bipolar ass and was close to telling him that
she didn’t want to work with him and Roneeka.
Hunei
quickly erased any thoughts of Roneeka from her mind and made her way
home. She lived in a two-bedroom apartment on the upper level of a
duplex. Although she had expensive taste, she made sure to keep it
simple when it came to decorating her home because her neighborhood
was known for burglaries. She climbed the stairs emotionally drained
from loving Nolan without it being reciprocated.
Interview with Kruze
What was the hardest scene from
your book to write?
The hardest scene
to write was the bathroom scene with Grease and Roneeka because I
had to tap into a level of evilness that was uncomfortable.
Why did you choose to write in your
particular field or genre?
I choose urban
fiction because it is a genre that I’ve always enjoyed reading. I
also can relate to a lot of the stories being told in this genre.
If you write in more than one
genre, how do you balance them?
I haven’t tried
my hands in any other genre but would accept the challenge.
What did you enjoy most about
writing this book?
I enjoyed living
the scenes in the book because when people speak to me about them, I
can understand their excitement. I had the same OMG reaction they
had to some of the scenes.
What book that you have read has
most influenced your life?
I wouldn’t say
any fiction book influenced me but there’s a bit of me in a lot of
my characters. Therefore, I’m telling parts of my story through
them.
Tell us a little about yourself?
Perhaps something not many people know?
I can cook and
play the piano but only a handful of people know that.
Can you tell us something about
your book that is not in the summary?
This
book is very emotional and will have your jaw dropped. I couldn’t
believe I wrote some of these things LOL.
