Blurb:
The world is ending. But for the survivors, their ordeal has just begun…
Ruth Garber survived the sabotage of the Mako oil platform as the first wave of EMP attacks crippled the southern United States. Now, she’s stranded on the platform with a handful of people. And violent terrorists are closing in…
A desperate mission.
The EMP strikes keep coming as Ruth and the others leave the platform, embarking on a dangerous voyage across the sea. Their mission: to reach safety on an island and find a way to survive. But when they land on what seems to be a tropical paradise, they soon learn they are not alone. And all is not what it seems.
A world gone dark.
Meanwhile, Ruth’s brother, Ronny, may have discovered the key to stopping AILS, the shadowy organization behind the EMP strikes. Ruth and fisherman John decide to seek him out on the mainland, leaving her granddaughter Stella and the rest of the crew to prepare for an impending attack.
But as civilization decays around them, they quickly learn they’re not the only ones who are fighting to survive…
My Review:
No Relief is the second book in the EMP Sabotage series and a great addition to the series. No Relief starts out with a blast and never lets up from beginning to end without a dull moment in between. Grace, Stella, and the rest of the crew kept me on the edge of my seat as they fought their way to safety.
After having to abandon their ship they hope to make it safely to an island. Upon their arrival on the island, they soon learn that it is already occupied by a ruthless man and his followers. They hope to make a bargain with this ruthless man for a few supplies if he will not allow them to stay on the island.
After meeting with this man and seeing how dangerous he can be they soon realize that their only option may be to fight for what they need and for the safety of the people that are under his rule.
No Relief is a fast-paced read that kept me glued to its pages not able to flip the pages as fast as I would have liked. I believe I felt everything the characters were feeling especially during their battles. I could see it all as it played out in my head. I felt as if I could just reach out and touch the characters they seemed so real.
I love this world and it just seems to keep getting better and better with each turn of the page. I can’t wait to read more from this world. I can’t wait to see where Ruth and Stella’s story takes them next.
I highly recommend No Relief to all post-apocalyptic and dystopian fans. Grab your copy of No Relief today for an island adventure!
