Did someone say dance like no one is watching? Guess that’s the only way Tyler CAN dance now. Slip into the pages of the fun and feisty second book in the Rocky Mountain Romances series.
Tyler Carter has everything she dreams of—she’s the starring ballerina in a Cirque-du-Soleil type show, a splashy Las Vegas lifestyle, and there’s nothing tying her down. Until she injures her knee, that is.
Tyler flees to her family in the little mountain town of Independence Junction, Colorado, and pretends she'll get better, until forced to realize the truth. And forced to confront her past when she smacks right into Patrick West, the architect restoring the historic Wilkinson house.
Their attraction quickly rekindles because of a one-night tryst they had the summer before—one neither of them wants to admit to!
But something else gets rekindled. A stalker sets their sights on Tyler and leaves shocking clues indicating they know exactly who Tyler is, and that they want her dead. Will Patrick, Tyler’s brother, and a retired police dog be able to keep Tyler safe?
The fascinating and quirky citizens of Independence Junction come back in Book 2 of The Rocky Mountain Romances series to show how small-town relationships can bring out the best and worst in people.
Heart-warming with a splash of Vegas glamour, Book 2 successfully combines a new-and-old mix of family and townsfolk in a pressure-cooker plot that never lets up on chuckles, suspense, and romance.
Interview with Virginia Fox, Book 2
How many books have you written and which is your favorite?
I've written 36 books. Four of them are now available in English as well. Rocky Mountain Kid, Book 4 of the Rocky Mountain Romances, that is coming out in February, is actually my favorite book of this series.
Book 4 tells the story of Paula who encounters a run away girl in her barn. While she is figuring out how to help the girl, she also learns that love doesn't threaten her independence when she gets to know the town's very handsome and kind vet Nate better.
If you’re planning a sequel, can you share a tiny bit about your plans for it?
Since the series already exists in German I can tell you that there are 31 books in it. I hope to have them all tranlsated into English.
Do you want each book to stand on its own, or are you trying to build a body of work with connections between each book?
Each book is a standalone - and everything that is needed to know about the fictional small town and it's inhabitants is explained shortly in each book so you will be able to start reading anywhere in the series.
My books always tell the story of a new couple, but you will meet all the characters again you got to know and love while reading the other books in the series. My German readers say it's a bit like going on a mini vacation from the comfort of your own couch and meeting your friends again.
How did you come up with the title for your book?
Well, with Rocky Mountain Yoga, I went for the contrast of city life and the raw beauty of the Rocky Mountains. After that "Rocky Mountain" was set and I just had to fit the content of the book somehow.
How long did it take you to write this book?
All of the books in the Rocky Mountain Romances Series took me 3 month to write.
What did you learn when writing the book?
I learned that no matter how much I plot my characters have a mind of their own.
What surprised you the most?
I was also surprised to find out that no matter how much I tried to get my characters to behave, I just couldn't. It seems as soon as they get an idea in their head there's no convincing them to return to the (my) original idea.
Have you ever killed off a character your readers loved?
No. Not really. Except for a beloved pet that naturally turned old over the span of the series. Unfortunately, they don't live as long as we do. A fact that I encountered myself last year when I had to let go my trusty doggy friend Paige. She reached the high age of 16 years. I still miss her very much.
What do you do to get inside your character’s heads?
Um, it's actually the other way around... they get in my head and inform me of their wishes, fears, hearts desires, plans... And I have to accomodate them :-)
