In the suburbs of Chicago, Jayceon and Leah were all set to start their new lives together as husband and wife. In Jace, Leah thought she married the perfect man until she accidentally stumbles across his deleted secret that quickly turns her sanity, and their marriage, upside down. The night before Jayceon marries Leah, he hits the record button on his iPhone when the curvaceous dancer—Jessica Fox—from his bachelor party makes her way back to his hotel suite. Soon after, the nasty recorded mistake comes back to haunt Jace, and the stripper, in the worst way possible. The life Leah planned with Jace rapidly spins out of control when she becomes obsessed with the X-rated video, and the girl in it. Leah will do whatever it takes to right her new husbands wrong, even if it means getting rid of Jessica Fox for good . . .

Interview with Nick Haskins

How many books have you written and which is your favorite?

I have written five books. I don’t have a favorite, but I’m probably most connected to She’s Obsessed.

If you’re planning a sequel, can you share a tiny bit about your plans for it?

I don’t have a sequel planned for She’s Obsessed, but the characters, and their story, are not over. One of the main characters, Jayceon, is in my new book, Dark Waters. So, Jace and Leah’s story will continue through another book.

Do you want each book to stand on its own, or are you trying to build a body of work with connections between each book?

My first four books are standalone, but I am starting a new three-book series.

How did you come up with the title for your book?

I already had the story, the characters, and the plot, so all that was left was to name it. I didn’t want anything with the word obsession because I didn’t feel that would be urban enough. I didn't want to name the book Obsessed since there is a popular movie of the same name. After a few days, the She’s and the Obsessed stuck together.

How long did it take you to write this book?

Four years only because it was an on-and-off project.

    What does the title mean?

The title means She’s, as in the main character, Leah, is Obsessed with her new husband’s sex tape and the stripper she watched him with.

What did you learn when writing the book?

That I could write in any style that I choose. She’s Obsessed opened me up as a writer and a storyteller.

    What surprised you the most?

What surprises me the most is that readers take Leah and her actions to the next level. I wanted her to be really obsessed, but the readers always seem to take her a step further which is fantastic!

Have you ever killed off a character your readers loved?

I don’t think I’ve killed off a character readers loved, but they wanted more from Dr. Reynolds from My Husband’s Wife before I took him out.

What do you do to get inside your character’s heads?

I listen to them. I’m just the vessel; they are the story's voice and heartbeat. I respect them as such, and in return they always give me everything I need, including full access to them.
