EXCERPT
Grasshopper Eye lived in a village deep in the forest. He made small vials that villagers could put their sad tears in.
He felt that letting sad tears fall down your face or wiping them away was a huge waste of something that took so much pain to make.

My Review:
Grasshopper Eye and the Lost Vial is a children’s book that is mentioned in Michelle Jester’s Two Thousand Lines. In Grasshopper Eye and the Lost Vial, Grasshopper Eye makes a present for all his friends in the village. Grasshopper Eye makes everyone a vial to keep their tears in. Each vial is specially made to fit each person.
One day all of the vials go missing. Someone has stolen all the vials and now no one is able to cry. They search the lands from top to bottom looking for the vials. Who took all vials? Why would someone steal the vials? Can Grasshopper Eye and his friends find the vials? Will they ever be able to cry again without the vials?
Grasshopper Eye and the Lost Vial is a great story for children and even adults. Grasshopper Eye and the Lost Vial is a great way to teach children how important crying can be and that crying is not a bad thing. Grasshopper Eye and the Lost Vial is also about friendship and caring about each other.
After I read Michelle Jester’s Two Thousand Lines novel with the mention of Grasshopper Eye and the Lost Vial I had to check it out and after reading it I can understand how it may have helped Olivia as a child in Two Thousand Lines to cope and maybe even help her to move on.
Grasshopper Eye and the Lost Vial would make a great story for children or for adults to read to them.
