How
did you become involved with the subject or theme of your book?
I
have a love for suspense dark romance novels. I also have a vivid
imagination.
What
were your goals and intentions in this book, and how well do you feel
you achieved them?
This
was my first novel. My goals were well exceeded when I held the book
in my hands.
Anything you would
like to say to your readers and fans?
Thank you for taking
the time to read my first novel. I have truly enjoy this adventure
and look forward to writing more of Emma’s Journey from
Withstanding the Enemy.
What did you enjoy
most about writing this book?
I enjoyed the
learning experience of writing this book and watching my writing grow
before my own eyes. I gained confidence and friendships with this
journey. I can’t wait to see where I will be in five years from
now.
Can you tell us a
little bit about your next books or what you have planned for the
future?
Of course, I am
excited to announce book two from With Emma Series, Within the
Shadows, will be release August 28, 2020. I also am currently writing
book three to the series—ending the series as a trilogy.
How long have you
been writing?
This is my first
novel, however, I have been writing since I was in junior high with
journaling. It wasn’t until in my mid twenties that I started to
write more seriously.
Can
you tell us a little bit about the characters in Withstanding the
Enemy?
Emma
Andrews is our main character. She hasn’t had an easy childhood and
finds herself in the broken foster care system. She undergoes trauma
in her past. She is resilient, even if, she doesn’t see it herself,
she is capable of withstanding time.
Rick Stevens is the
multi-millionaire that holds Emma captive. He is ruthless and his
love is overbearing. He is dark. Emma is his and he makes sure
everyone knows it. Is he the evil that everyone thinks he is? Or, is
there another side to him that he so desperately wants Emma to see…
Chance Fletcher is
Emma’s bodyguard. He can’t fight his feelings he has towards
Emma. Only, his past comes back to haunt him, a past he has been
trying to outrun.
If you could spend
the day with one of the characters from Withstanding the Enemy, who
would it be? Please tell us why you chose this particular character,
where you would go and what you would do.
This is a hard one
for me, I would want to spend time with all of them. But, if I had to
pick one … it would be Emma. I wouldn’t go anywhere. I would want
to just talk and hang out. I would want to listen to her and tell her
that it’s all going to be okay.
Author Bio:
T. L. Mahrt is a former business owner, where she utilized her education in cosmetology, barbering and massage therapy for several years. She was raised on and is currently living on a farm in Nebraska, where you can find her running barefoot in the country side with her loving husband and inspiring children and massive dogs.
After having her son, who was born with Cerebral Palsy, she made the life altering decision to stay home to care for her two children and pursue her love for writing. She has a love for romance and poetry where, her overactive imagination, along with her adventures and up beat lifestyle drives her inspiration for her writing.
T. L. Mahrt has a thirst for knowledge, and is currently working on her Bachelor of Applied Science in Communication Studies degree.
