My Review:
Seventeen-year-old Ruby Brooks moves
to a small-town, La Luna, New Mexico with her
Aunt Liddy. Ruby has suffered a lot in the last year with the death
of her mother. Ruby becomes the center of attention after arriving in
La Luna but that is the way of small towns. She meets a great group
of girls whom she becomes fast friends with. Ruby is in her last year
of school.
There are three guys in the town that Ruby sets her eyes on and each
one becomes infatuated with her as well. One is the Sheriff's Deputy
Angel who is a nice young man. Another one is Ezra who likes to keep
to himself especially after his accident that has left him with
scares. And last but not least Ruby meets another young man in the
forest a very mysterious dude whom she usually only sees in the
forest.
The town of La Luna comes alive with the very beautiful descriptive
writing of the Native American landscape. The descriptions are so
vivid that you feel as if you are there. I loved reading about the
history of La Luna and the Natives. After reading Between Wild and
Ruin and those wonderful stories and description of the landscape I
now would like to visit New Mexico.
Between Wild and Ruin is filled with twists and turns and secrets as
well, only revealing them a little at a time just enough to keep you
interested and the pages flipping. Between Wild and Ruin kept me
guessing as to who and what was actually happening and who was who. I
so enjoyed Between Wild and Ruin and can’t wait for more from this
world and these characters, each and everyone of them.
Between Wild and Ruin is a cross between Beauty and the Beast and the
Twilight Light Saga only no one sparkles. If you like fairy tale

Originally a California native, she currently resides in Santa Fe, New Mexico with her husband, kids, and dog, Hubble after surviving twenty-plus years in the Minnesota tundra (but still considers Los Angeles, the Twin Cities, and Santa Fe all home).
