Alone in a hunting cabin, off-grid in an untamed wilderness. How does a marriage come to this?
After John disappeared while hunting—presumed dead from a bear attack—Cameron found the crime photos. His role in the recent Seattle serial murders was discovered. The media destroyed her reputation. She lost her dental practice, is on the brink of losing her home.
Everyone has a secret. But if her husband could hide the unimaginable from her, who’s to say he’s truly dead?
“What brings you so far from home?” the Alaska State Trooper had asked. The truth.
My Review:
When I started reading The Final Hunt I never expected an ending like that one but the more I read it became easier and easier to guess how it was all going to turn out. I enjoyed every moment in between and with trying to guess exactly how it was going to end.
Carmen is grieving the loss of her husband, John. John was killed while hunting with a friend by a bear. John’s body was never recovered of course. Carmen and John had a cabin so she decide to take a few days to be alone so she goes to the cabin.
While she is there she finds some photos of John and other women. Women that were missing or dead. Carmen turns the photos over to the police. It turns out that the police have been investigating John for a while. It turns out that John was a serial killer.
Carmen is a dentist but after everyone hears about her husband she loses her practice and her home. With so much time on her hands and spending so much time alone Carmen’s mind starts to wonder more and more about John killing all those people. Carmen does a little research on her own and comes up with a couple of clues.
As I said I thoroughly enjoyed every moment of The Final Hunt. It had me mesmerized the moment I read that first page. I was so enchanted I never looked up once and before I knew it or wanted it I had read that last page.
The descriptions were so vividly written I had no problem seeing each and every scene playing in my head as if I was there. My favorite scenes were in Alaska with all that snow. I enjoyed the mystery and the hunt. I do love that title as it fits so well with the story.
I enjoyed The Final Hunt so much that I would highly recommend it to all mystery and thriller readers. I would advise all mystery and thriller readers to grab your copy of The Final Hunt today for a great adventure mystery!
