Blurb:
Something has awakened within Allison Boyle. Now she must
avoid capture by a decades-old conspiracy.
Allison thought she was normal, until she discovered the
power to move things with her mind. She’s uncovered a genetic heritage her
mother’s been keeping from her, and she finds evidence of a secret organization
conducting horrible experiments on teenagers like her. Suddenly men with guns
are hunting her down.
Allison goes on the run cross-country to find her one hope,
the father she hasn’t seen since she was five, someone who may be involved in
the conspiracy as much as anyone.
Can Allison’s untried ability be enough to let her escape
from the long shadow of her family’s history?
Newly revised, this book was originally published under the
name Steven Krane.
My Review:
Allison Boyle has just discovered that her mother has been
hiding things from the since she was five like she led her to believe that her
father was dead. Allison also figures out that that is not the only thing she
has kept from her all these years. She has discovered that she has the ability
to move things with her mind. What else might you be hiding dear mother of
Allison? When Allison finds out that there are some men after her she confronts
her mother about the things she has been hiding from her.
When these men get to close to home Allison with the help of
her best friend Macy decide that their best options is to leave town and hopefully
the men won’t follow them or know where they are. After finding out that her
father is still alive Allison decides that meeting him may just be their best
bet. She also needs more answers to her unanswered questions.
As Allison is getting closer to her destination the bad men
are closing in and have other plans for her. Allison has no idea who she can
trust or what is going on but she knows for sure that something is and what
that is she has every intention of finding out and she will do whatever it
takes to keep herself and Macy safe and alive.
Teek: The Children of Prometheus is very intense read that
kept me on the edge of my seat trying to figure it all out. And just as I
thought that might be happening bam I would be hit with another big twist and I
would be heading in a whole other direction and starting over again. Allison is
a very brave and determined girl; she accepted what she could do without too
much of a problem and used it to her advantage.
I love the world that the author created for Teek: The
Children of Prometheus. It kept reminding me of Stephen King’s movie Fire Starter
yeah I know that starting fires was not a part of what Allison could do but
what made me think of Fire Starter was that I kept making a connection with
Allison’s parents and Charlie’s parents in Fire Starter. Allison reminded me of
Charlie too at the end of the movie when Charlie was walking around at the
place where they were keeping her and she was setting everything on fire. I saw
Allison in my head in a similar situation or way but moving things with her
mind.
I would very much like to see and read more about Allison
and Macy in future books. I believe that Allison has a lot more to tell us or
maybe her parents do or both. I can’t wait to read more in this wonderful universe
of Teek: The Children of Prometheus.
If you like thrillers, science fiction with paranormal
elements then you are going to love Teek: The Children of Prometheus which I
highly recommend.
