Regardless of her hopes or fears, returning to Avenel would thrust her into Josh’s realm. He was her first, and she still wasn’t over him. Even though he didn’t know it, she carried a secret from their past that could change their lives forever.
Josh Turner couldn’t believe his eyes. He’d heard Senna was coming back, but he hadn’t known when. But when their paths crossed, the curves of her body took him on a slow trip through memory lane. She’d been his first love and his first heartbreak. After high school, she’d ghosted him and cut him out of her life as if he was a cancerous tumor to be tossed aside. He’d been heartbroken and angry, but as the years passed, his anger cooled to indifference, but being in her presence again unleashed a swell of emotions that he hadn’t expected. All their ‘firsts’ crashed through him like a tsunami and destroyed the barriers he’d erected around his heart. He’d thought he was over her. He wasn’t.

As a writer, what would you choose as your
mascot/avatar/spirit animal?
A lioness. I visited a lion
sanctuary in North Carolina and was amazed at the power that emanated from
them. Their chuffing calls from one side of the sanctuary to the other sent
chills down my spine.
How many hours a day do you put into your writing?
On a good writing day, I’ll
spend three to four hours. On days that I substitute teach, I’ll try to get at
least an hour at my computer.
Do you read your book reviews?
Yes, I can’t help myself. Book
reviews give me various insights on aspects of my writing that people enjoy or
pinpoint weaknesses in my writing/storytelling.
Do you leave hidden messages in your books that only a few
people will find?
Sometimes. I often pull from my life experiences for
events that I can alter and put into my writing. In Lizzy’s Kiss, Lizzy goes
on a date that ended badly. They parted ways, and she realized that she had no
idea where she’d parked her car. That happened to me when I lived in
California. I was on a first date and trusted him to get me back to my car
because he was from the area. The date went poorly, but I couldn’t bail on him
because I had no idea how to get back to my car. Thankfully, ladies today have
Siri to get them back to their cars.
Can you tell us a little bit about the characters in Senna’s Secret?
Here’s a quick synopsis of Senna’s
Secret.

Can you tell us a little bit about your next books or what you have
planned for the future?
My next book will be book four of
the Flowers of Avenel series. I haven’t decided on the title, but the main
character is Laurel Hansen. She’s a single mother on the run from an
emotionally abusive ex-boyfriend and his drug dealing brother.
Do you allow yourself a certain number of hours to write or do you
write as long as the words come?
On a good writing day, I aim for at
least three to four hours.
Do you have a certain number of words or pages you write per day?
I try for at least two thousand.
What inspires you to write?
I have an active imagination and can
visualize stories all around me that are begging to be written.
Would you rather
Read fiction or
non-fiction?
Fiction
Read series or
stand-alone?
Either. I enjoy romance novels that take place in a specific
location or family where each person’s story is an individual novel. But I
always want closure of some kind at the end of the book.

Horror

Hard one. Maybe Dean Koontz.

watch the movie?

Ebook. I love the convenience of reading on my phone.

I can read books off the computer, so I’ll go with that.
