Interview with PJ Colando
As a writer, what would you
choose as your mascot/avatar/spirit animal?
A dolphin
How many hours a day do you
put into your writing?
1-2 hours/day - though when
I’m in full revision mode and am obsessed, it’s 6-7 hours ago. I’m reined in by
my husband and pets, or it might be more. I love to finesse and improve my
storytelling.
Do you read your book reviews?
If yes, do they affect what you write in the future?
I do read reviews and am
grateful that someone read my books and felt compelled to share their
impressions, chilly or effusively good, with me and other readers.
Do you leave hidden messages
in your books that only a few people will find?
No. My characters are straight-forward,
‘what you see is what you get’ and I am, too.
Can you tell us a little bit about
the characters in The Winner’s Circle?
Bonnie Voss, the shy former
church secretary, Fran Blackstone, the former school administrator who
is newly married to Bonnie’s boss, Pastor Rankin, and Jackie Breeden,
the spunky yet traditional farmwife, who with her husband, Steve, over-pampered
their son, Brandon. Amy, the conniving ex-wife of Brandon, will star in
book four of the Faith, Family, Frenzy! Coming in 2020.
Can you tell us a little bit about
your next books or what you have planned for the future?
The fourth-and-final book of the series is in its final round of edits
for a 2020 release date. The books working title is Lady Bug Rebelution.
Do you allow yourself a certain
number of hours to write or do you write as long as the words come?
As long as the words come,
though all women may recognize that other demands prevent me from writing as
long as I want – and that’s okay.
Do you have a certain number of
words or pages you write per day? No.
What inspires you to write?
I am a word nerd with a vibrant
imagination. Writing is an elegant hobby morphed into an encore career. (my
first career was speech-language pathology)
Would you rather
Read fiction
or non-fiction?
Fiction
Read series or stand-alone?
Doesn’t matter
Read Science fiction or horror?
No way
Read the book or watch the movie?
It depends...
Read an ebook or paperback?
No preference.
Be trapped alone for one month in a library with no computer
or a room with a computer and Wi-Fi only?
Library with water and snack bars!
Do a cross-country bookstore tour or blog tour online?
WooHoo! Count me in for either, please and thanks.
