Love isn't always champagne and roses and it's certainly not the case in this love triangle thriller with a twist. A dominating, abusive boyfriend is being ousted for a romantic hero, but there are deadly consequences. Step into the gang life and witness the savagery as they stop at nothing to seek revenge. You've heard the old saying: "Boy meets girl. Boy falls in love with girl."  Now you can add: "Girl's gang-leader boyfriend doesn’t like the new addition."

Interview with Scott Stevens

What were your goals and intentions in this book, and how well do you feel you achieved them?
My initial intentions were to provide another great thriller for my fans to enjoy. In that aspect I hope I have delivered another entertaining story for them to read. It also draws attention to the very real issue of domestic violence. I wanted readers to feel for the character of “Emily,” and hate the character of “Snake.” I think (hope) I accomplished both.

Anything you would like to say to your readers and fans?
First and foremost I would like to thank them for all of their support. Without their support there would be no more stories to tell. I love interacting with them on social media and I do the best I can to answer most of their communication attempts. I hope they enjoy this book as much as they have enjoyed the previous ones.

What did you enjoy most about writing this book?
When I have an idea for a new story, they don’t always work out. I’d have to say that for every book I have out there have been five to ten ideas that just didn’t pan out for one reason or another. The idea for this one was strong but I wasn’t sure I could pull off the gang aspect because I’ve never been part of a criminal gang before. The early reviews tell me that I was able to do exactly what I wanted to and that’s very enjoyable. When a fan reads a book they transport themselves into a place they might not ever be in real life. The author gets to do the same thing, so putting myself in the middle of this as I wrote it was a lot of fun.

Can you tell us a little bit about your next books or what you have planned for the future?
I have several professional wrestling biographies in the works. Those are a lot of fun to do. One should be released during the summer of 2020. It’s in the final editing stages currently. I love writing thrillers though so I’ll never stop doing those. I have another one in the works that is coming out quite nicely so far. I’m hoping for a 2021 release for that one. Down the road I’ll also be doing a sports history book about a very interesting story I recently came across.

How long have you been writing?
I’ve been doing novels for about five years now, but have been writing on and off in some aspect for almost twenty-five years now.

Can you tell us a little bit about the characters in Deadly Roses?
Emily is one of the three main characters. She’s a very nice woman who just wants to be in a relationship that is normal and loving. Unfortunately for her, she got involved with Snake, who turn out to be quite the opposite of what she wants.

Snake is the leader of the meanest gang in New York City. He thinks he’s entitled to whatever he wants, whenever he wants. He also thinks that he owns Emily and can treat her however he wants to, with no repercussions.

Noah is a normal working guy who met Emily and fell in love with her, despite her warnings about her violent boyfriend. He wants to get her away from him and protect her. He has no idea what the gang will do to him if they find out his intentions.

If you could spend the day with one of the characters from Deadly Roses who would it be? Please tell us why you chose this particular character, where you would go and what you would do.
I would have to say that I’d probably want to spend the day with Noah. I’d try to explain to him that Emily knows what she’s talking about when she warns him about the violent behavior of her boyfriend. I’d bring him to a park and point out couples and show him what he could be involved in, rather than a drama-filled, life-threatening situation. I’d tell him to forget about her and move on to someone with less drama.
